Last week we had the screening of the first episode of Prisoners Wives by BBC/ Tiger Aspect written by Julie Geary and directed by Harry Bradbeer.  I will be playing series regular Shaheen Wazir as of 21st March. The first episode is on 14th March at 9pm so please start tuning in! It is such a fantastic opening, so gripping, incredibly shot twinned with stellar performances. Some of you might know that between filming or treading the boards I spend my time with a group of fifties, fun loving and jiving lads called The Jive Aces, UK's No.1 Jive Band. For the past three months we've been, well, pretty much everywhere. Up north that is and more recently all the way down south in a sunny place beside the sea called Worthing at the fabulous 'Big Jive All dayer' which the Jive aces organise on a yearly basis.We've been promoting their album I feature on called 'King of the Swingers'. I have such a 'laff' on the road with these guys and played to some big and wonderful audiences. I think my favourite show was at Bibis: one of the most lush art deco restaurants I have ever seen. The food almost supersedes the standard of it's interiors and as you can see that is really saying something.

Finally a video I shot during 'Wah Wah Girls' theatre production directed by Emma Rice from Kneehigh Theatre for Sadlers Wells and Theatre Royal Stratford East, is out on YouTube for all to see. Shot by Leopard Films, 'Sita Oh Sita', is composed by Niraj Chag and new lyrics by Japjit Kaur. Filmed at
Petticoat Lane marketing in London, the video features almost 100 professional and non-professional dancers.

 

As an actress something 'Bollywood' is always something I've wanted to do so I was thrilled to be asked and jumped at the opportunity. The other character 'Kabir' was played by Shubhum Saraf, a fantastic actor and a lotta fun to work with. I was in my element shooting in bright sunshine on the first day giving it all the ol' Bollywood flavour. It was an honour to have a genuine Bollywood film/tv performer and top Bombay choreographer Javed Sanadi so I was pretty much in my element working with amazing people and the most inspiring group of dancers. Eventually, on the second day, as predicted the British weather reared it's wet head and in true British fashion ended up dancing and singing in the rain!

I had a fantastic time at the premiere of Mission Impossible 4, Ghost Protocol, last week at London's Southbank IMAX. I was completely blown away at the vastness and clarity of the film's visuals and was even more blown away at Tom Cruise's extraordinary stunts that was filmed at the top of the world's tallest building in Dubai. It was a real star studded experience mingling amongst the likes of Cruise himself, Paula Patten, Gillian Anderson and my ever favourite Simon Pegg who gave such a delightful and funny performance of techno geek extraordnaire 'Benji'.
So preparations were on the way when Raishma and I got together upon receiving a voice message on my phone saying 'you have been invited to Mission Impossible Premiere on behalf of Tom Cruise'! How exciting! She circled and swirled in her boutique picking out glamourous and sophisticated evening gowns. I wanted to go for the bollywood look as part of the film was shot in Mumbai and I knew Raishma would pull the jewels and such artistry of her designs out the bag. After much huffing and puffing with trying on a number of gorgeous gowns we came to a decision. I felt a million dollers in this wonderful piece of artwork she had created. My experience filming the movie 'Chakara'

I have had the most remarkable and magical 5 weeks filming the movie 'Chakara' in Kerala, Malaga and London for Laidback films. It has been an absolute joy acting with wonderful and talented actors not to mention one of the most professional filming crew I have ever worked with.
Playing the wild, half dutch, half Indian character of Kate Messenger was both challenging and incredibly satisfying due to her ferver for living life on the edge of existance. This film offers such variety of scenes, location and journies of these characters.
I just want to thank everyone one this project and very much look forward to it's release next year!

I was so thrilled to have the The Jive Aces on board as well! For our opening scene Kate Messenger is working as a singer in London back in 1988. The theatre scene on stage is set in the 1940s. Here are some pictures again complimentary of our sounds man Geoff Price.
