REBECCA LEAVES BBC's HOLBY CITY

Rebecca has had an amazing two years on BBC's Holby City and felt it was her time to leave after fulfilling an array of challenging and exciting storylines. 'I was so thankful and slightly daunted that my character was thrown in at the deep end when I joined the cast.  Playing Daisha Anderson and having to deal with matters of pregnancy, abortion, postnatal depression and adoption are all very topical and often contraversial subjects in society today. I had to really do my research to understand and portray such difficult decisions that young women are sometimes faced with.' Rebecca very much misses all those individuals who made her feel part of the family namely the producers Tony Mchale and Diana Kyle. A warm and brilliantly run production with a well deserved BAFTA.

REBECCA WINS 'BEST ACTRESS' AWARD

Recently, Rebecca won an award for Best Actress at The International Filmmakers Festival for World Cinema for her role in an Indepedent film called 'Kristina' where she played the lead. 'Kristina' was directed by Pat Garrett and produced by CJ Cookson and centres around a love story between a young Filipino housemaid and a British cancer victim who has found refuge in the Philippines. He endures his last few days by writing his last novel, but is intrigued and falls in love with Kristina and her denial and innocence of not knowing or understanding his situation and dismay. This year Rebecca has been asked to appear at the red carpet event at the festival by organiser Carl Tooney. She will be presenting the Lifetime acheivement award.

REBECCA sings with THE JIVE ACES

Rebecca is currently singing with The vibrant and exuberant Jive Aces and will be starring as Keeley Smith in their up and coming performance of 'The Louis Prima and Keely Smith show' which will be touring various theatres in England. The Jive Aces are one of the hardest-working bands in show business today, performing over 300 shows a year in so far over 25 different countries. They have appeared on literally hundreds of TV and radio shows all over the world. Rebecca 'They are the most fun, positive and talented musicians I have ever met in showbiz!'

REBECCA MUSIC with HOSSAM RAMZY and CHAZ DABAT

Rebecca is privileged to be developing her album with Egyptian percussionist, composer and music arranger Hossam Ramzy, and highly credited music producer and composer Chaz Dabat. Rebecca 'Chaz and Hossam create an incredible team which only produces pure excellence. They are developing a real different and unique sound enriched with cultural instruments and percussion enfusing all their combined ethnic backgrounds and talents but still staying true to modern tones.  The end product is going to be like nothing else on the music scene.  The results are exciting vibrant and fresh. There is plenty more to come!'

EDUCATIONAL PROJECT PHILIPPINES

Rebecca and her husband Ivan are helping finance the reconstruction of a dilapidated school for some 40 slum kids in Paranaque, Philippines. This is part of the educational project supported by her mother's charity 'The Padua Charitable Fund' (www.paduacharitablefund.org) which builds houses, and assists with education and healthcare. Not only will this give many children the chance of a good and continuous education, something which we take for granted in this country - this is also a promise of hope and security for the future for themselves, their families as well as for their community.
